Proficiency Writing

We had our make up class this afternoon. Some of you showed up and worked on grammar and on yur third drafts, which is good.

Tomorrow, we'll have an in class proficiency writing assignment. I nedd to see examples of new grammatical structures learned in class, especially since the midterm, in these papers.

Tomorrow would not be a good class to miss or be late for.

Tuesday's Lesson

I will urge everbody in class to consult the essay example on page 218 "Winning" when writing your paper. I think it contains everything I'm looking for in a paper. You need to make appointments to see me if you haven't already done so already.
I'm pretty busy tomorrow, but I have some time in the morning and from 3-4pm.

OK, Draft #1 will be due on Tuesday, and draft #2 will be due on Friday. Draft #3 will be due the following Monday.
Work hard on it, and I will have your in-class essays ready on Tuesday.

The main point of tomorrow's writing will be to use new sentence types like in today's lesson.
It will be an Effects paper more than likely. I don't think it would be fair to give a Narration paper.
We'll do 3 kinds of papers this quarter, but Cause and Effects will be the underlining theme that we'll come back to for testing.

Tomorrow, we're going to meet in the computer lab. We'll work on free-writing there. You don't have to make your outline tonight, brainstorming or clustering tonight.
